Josephine Ford-Ross was born In February 5, 1908. She was the seventh child born into George and Victoria Ford.
In 1908, the 3rd child born into George and Victoria's family was Josephine Ford. Josephine loved the Lord's work and served her church faithfully. When she was young, she would learn songs at college, and later teach them to the choir at Roans Chapel. She would often sing duets with her favorite cousin, Daisy.
She would later marry Jack Ross and give birth to four children: Jack Jr., Doris Rae, Charles Melvin, and Darrell Lynn. Josephine and her husband were the driving forces for her siblings moving to Vancouver, Washington to work at the Kaiser Shipyard in the 1940's. After the shipyard closed, instead of returning to Texas like her other family members,
Josephine and Jack moved their family to Seattle, Washington. Unfortunately, her husband would die shortly after their move, forcing Josephing to work very hard to keep their family together.
Jack was born march 2, 1931, to Jack and Josephine Ross in Bryan, TX. Jack was later baptized at an early age at Roans Chapel Baptist Church in College Station, TX. In 1954 he bcame a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church in Seattle, Washinton.
Jack graduated from Cleveland High School in 1948, and continued his education at the Edison Technical School and the Univeristy of Washington. In 1950, he joined the U.S. Air Force, where he served until receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1954.
He later returned to Seattle to begin a career with the Boeing Company as an electrical mechanic. In 1970,
Jack became one of the first African Americans to be employed by the Western elevator Company, now known as US Elevator Corporation.
As a part of his career change, Jack attended the International Union of Elevator Contractors training classes. He was also an active member at Local 19, where he served as a Union Trustee for Financial Records. Jack retired after 22 years with US Elevator.
In his community, Jack served on the board of the NAACP Credit Union form for many years. He was an active member of the Royal Esquire Club, Eastside and Jefferson Park Mens Golf Clubs, and was a lifetime member of the Central Area Senior Center.
Jack loved to play games. He was a Bid Whist, Pinnochle, and Dominoes player. He was also a bowler and golfer.
Jack Ross Jr. and Gloria Austin became friends in 1947. The friendship developed into love and in 1955, when they became husband and wife. Gloria was a faithful and loving wife for 41 years.
Jack departed this life on Tuesday, December 24, 1996. At the time of his death he had four grandchildren: Kevin, Terri, Princess Latae, and Jordan.

Charles Melvin Ross was born in March of 1934 to Jack and Josephine Ross in Bryan, Texas. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1951 and attended the Univeristy of Washington.
In 1957, Charles joined the U.S. Air Force where he received several commendations for his service, including the National Service Defense Medal, United States Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. After receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1961, Charles later became employed with the United States Post Office and th Boeing Company. In 1964 Charles began employment with the Washington State Employment Security where he retired in 1986 after 21 years.
Charles was affectionately known as "Uncle Charles" to his family, and as "Ross" to his many friends. His favorie hobbies were playing dominoes and solving crossword puzzles. He was also an avid sports fan and reader. He especially enjoyed barbecuing for family outings and gatherings. Charles was a quiet natured person who was well loved and admired.
Darrel Lynn Ross was born on July 22, 1935 in College Station, TX to Josephine and Jack Ross. He was baptized at the age of 12 in Vancouver, Washinton at the Baptist Church in 1947.
After his baptism, he moved to Seattle, and a year later he was the Washinton State Marble Shooter Champion (1948). He even traveled to Utah to defend his title. He was an avid softball pitcher and bowler. Darryl graduated from Garfield High School in 1952, and was employed at the Boeing Company for 30 years.
Darrell met and married his teenage sweetheart, Dorothy, on November 12, 1955. To this union three beautiful daughters were born, Lynn, Vicky, and Carol. Later in the marriage came another joy in his life, Ameshia, whom he loved greatly and raised as his own.
Darrell Lynn Ross lived a full life, and departed to go be with the Lord on August 3, 1989 at the age of 54 years old.
